Cognizant, Microsoft Partner to Expand Adoption of GenAI

Digital transformation service provider Cognizant and Microsoft expanded its partnership, on Monday, to make Microsoft’s generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and Copilots available to its users.

The firm said with this collaboration it looks to transform enterprise business operations, improve employee experiences, and accelerate cross-industry innovation.

As part of the partnership, Cognizant said it purchased certain seats of Microsoft 365 Copilot, Sales Copilot seats and Services Copilot for its associatesto enhance productivity, streamline workflows and transform customer experiences.

The company said this alliance is estimated to infuse $1 trillion into the United States’gross domestic product over the following decade. While, AI is predicted to add $450-$500 billion to India’s GDP by 2025, accounting for 10% of the country’s $5 trillion GDP forecast, added the firm.

“We are investing $1 billion in generative AI over the next three years and leading the development of new research to explore its potential for our clients, their employees and end customers,” said Ravi Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Cognizant.

“By combining Cognizant’s industry expertise with Microsoft’s Copilot capabilities including Copilot for Microsoft 365 and GitHub Copilot we will help drive AI adoption and innovation for millions of users across its network,” said Judson Althoff, Executive Vice President at Microsoft.

In March, Cognizant launched an advanced AI lab based in San Francisco to advance the science and practice of AI through innovation as well as the development of intellectual property and AI-enabled technologies.
