Arctech, a solar tracking and racking solutions provider, signed a land lease agreement with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones, otherwise known as MODON, concerning the establishment of Arctech’s factory in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with a factory covering about 97,000 square meters.
The agreement signifies a significant step for Arctech’s expansion strategy, while also contributing to the development of the local PV (photovoltaic) industry chain and creating employment opportunities, supporting Saudi Arabia’s sustainable economic growth.
The company said the factory will become Arctech’s second overseas production hub after the one in Gujarat, India.
In February, renewable energy company Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) operationalized 551 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity in Khavda, Gujarat. The company also claimed when completed, Khavda RE park will be the largest renewable energy installation in the world.
Arctech’s project is designed to manufacture high-quality PV tracking systems with a capacity of 3 gigawatts (GW), catering to PV projects in the Middle East market.
