Third Wave Coffee Appoints Rajat Luthra as CEO

Café chain Third Wave Coffee, on Monday, appointed Rajat Luthra as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective April 3.

The newly appointed CEO has nearly three decades of experience in the food and beverage industry. He, most recently, worked with KFC India and Nepal as CEO of the fast food chain, since 2011. Prior to that, Luthra worked with Celio Future Fashion as CEO for over three years.

Luthra will be succeeding Sushant Goel, the current CEO of the company. Goel founded Third Wave Coffee, along with Anirudh Sharma and AyushBathwal in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He also founded a company called Clustr, which is an information service provider for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The company said Goel will hand over errands to Luthra over a nine-month period and transition to the board.

“Rajat is a veteran in the quick service restaurant (QSR) industry, and I am filled with optimism on what the future holds for Third Wave Coffee under his stewardship,” said SushantGaoel, CEO of Third Wave Coffee.

Third Wave raised $35 million in a funding round headed by Creaegis and current investor WestBridge Capital, in September 2023.

Headquartered in Bengaluru, Third Wave Coffee was founded in 2016. The café operator sells a wide variety of coffee and other beverages, while also serving quick bites and pastries.
