Mahindra Lifespaces Launches Carbon Calculator to Reduce Carbon Footprint

Indian real estate firm Mahindra Lifespaces introduced a Carbon Calculator on Thursday, which is designed for user-friendly interaction, with an aim to drive change, towards a greener and more sustainable future.

The company said this carbon calculator allows individuals to assess their carbon footprint based on factors like food, transport, and power consumption. With a process taking less than 5 minutes, users receive a clear and accessible graph illustrating their carbon impact, added the firm.

This initiative initially was posted on X, formerly known as Twitter by Group CEO of Mahindra Group Anish Shah, on his feed stating, an important initiative from Mahindra Lifespace lets one measure their carbon footprint, while also offers a chance to win a green home worth 1 crore rupees at Mahindra Vista, Mumbai.

There has been a rise in trends of shifting to a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle for a green tomorrow, with automobile companies such as Volvo pledging to sell only electric cars by 2030, while General Motors vowed to switch to a zero-carbon portfolio by 2035.

Josh Howarth, Co-Founder at Exploding Topics stated data from the United Nations Environment Program, which indicates building and construction contribute nearly 39% of the world’s carbon emissions.

This initiative of carbon calculator, the company said, marks its commitment to empowering individuals with the knowledge about the need to drive change towards a more sustainable future.

Mahindra Group’s subsidiary also noted with all projects certified environment friendly, the company has had a 100% green portfolio since 2014. Mahindra Lifespaces is also working towards carbon neutrality by 2040 and actively supports research on green buildings tailored to climatic conditions in India.
