UAE defense and technology company Edge signed new contracts worth $5bn

Edge, an AE defense and technology business, wrapped up fruitful participation at IDEX 2023 by signing new contracts totalling $5 billion (AED18.6 billion). During IDEX 2023, Edge unveiled 14 new products, 11 of which were ground-breaking autonomous and unmanned technologies and solutions.

AED4 billion of the AED18.6 billion in contracts were for overseas exports, and other collaborations and agreements with top OEMs, defense and technology firms, and suppliers were also signed.

The five-day event attracted a number of royal delegations and dignitaries from all over the world, including President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, thanks to EDGE’s prominent participation as IDEX 2023’s strategic partner.

Major contracts worth over AED9bn with the UAE Armed Forces for EDGE’s THUNDER and DESERT STING 25 Precision-Guided Munitions; SHADOW 25 and SHADOW 50, and HUNTER Loitering Munitions; and a contract valued at AED4bn to provide tactical communications and data-link solutions to the UAE Armed Forces were also signed at the event. With numerous significant industry participants, including Raytheon Emirates, ICOMM, John Cockerill, BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, HAL, L3Harris, and Fincantieri, among others, EDGE also signed more than 20 agreements and joint ventures.
