PMI Study Reveals Work Location Does Not Impact Performance

Resources and training company Project Management Institute (PMI) published its 15th annual Pulse of the Profession report on Monday, to find convincing evidence that organizations can provide work location flexibility and agility without affecting project execution and performance.

The study was concluded based on the survey results of 2,246 project professionals and 342 senior leaders around the world.

Data from The Future of Project Work: Moving Past Office-Centric Models report of PMI described companies that pull employees back into the office are not likely to see a boost in project performance or productivity.

The pandemic break in 2020 shut down all offices, leaving remote systems of work to be the only survival mode of the corporate world. This system, though panicked by many initially, is widely accepted and appreciated by employees all over the world.

The research firm said, many studies have attempted to argue the negatives of remote work outweigh the positives. However, 44% of Indian organizations reported that they had adopted a hybrid work environment while 10% reported that their organization was working remotely, based on PMI’s research.

The research also highlighted that in India, 87% of organizations anticipate an increase in hybrid project management approaches over the next five years which is comparatively higher than the global percentage.

Zoltan Rendes, Marketing Chief of SunMoney Solar Group said, in the dynamic world, he prefers work from home because running or working for a global company requires a lot of flexibility.

A good and efficient remote working system and a bit of self-discipline actually increase life hours in the work-life balance, added Rendes.
