Microsoft launches Copilot in Windows Keyboard after 3 Decades

Software giant Microsoft, on Thursday, said it introduced Copilot key in the keyboard of Windows 11 personal computers (PCs) to seamlessly access artificial intelligence (AI) and simplify as well as amplify the computing experience to the users.

The introduction of the Copilot key represents a notable milestone as the first substantial modification to the Windows PC keyboard in almost three decades, said the firm. Additionally, this key will aid in an easy AI transition for the users.

Copilot is a Chabot that uses AI to assist users in various tasks. Microsoft said, going forward, Copilot will be a part of the upcoming Windows 11 desktop computers with the help of its partners, becoming available starting later this month to the mid of 2024.

The key will be placed beside the space bar replacing one of the Ctrl (Control) keys in the keyboard, which will balance the average number of keys in the keyboard.

The firm started with the introduction of Bing Chat incorporated into Microsoft 365, Microsoft Edge, and Windows for the users, also having brought everything under one brand Microsoft, Copilot makes it accessible for all users on all devices.

Copilot is an AI assistant powered by Large Language Models (LLMs) offering innovative solutions across the Microsoft Cloud. LLM is a type of AI algorithm used to understand and generate human-like text and or text using self-supervised learning techniques.
